From 1989/90 the CUT institutionally held professional training of artistic paintings, managing, acting as a training agency accredited by the Region of Umbria (DD No. 107-58, 27/11/2003) two-year courses for professional qualification stage actors on behalf of the Umbria Region and the Province of Perugia, through use of the European Social Fund, in conjunction with the official Teatro Stabile Umbria.
The two-year courses, which are admitted, after careful sample selection, a maximum of 15 students who have reached eighteen years of age require a total of 1500/1800 hours of lessons divided into two academic years. This initiative is one of the experiences that have led the regions in Italy to intervene using the European Social Fund in support of educational facilities great international prestige.
The student is placed in a position to choose the type of theater that best suits its particular characteristics. in recent years has been entrusted to an Italian team of the National of Dramatic Arts in Rome with the task of imparting their knowledge of theater and classical techniques of acting, while at the same has been asked a team of theater people and foreign teachers (especially Poles and Russians) to lead young people to approach maieutically and to prepare themselves to theatrical research, using a methodology of experimental work, the result of the most advanced pedagogical investigations theater of this century (from the Stanislavsky method to Biomechanics of Meyerhold, the research of Grotowski and Barba, to the current forms of theater and dance). The Temporary Association between TSU and provides that the CUT University Theater Center to deal within two years of information, guidance and technical education, art and performances of students while the TSU provides the recognition of the needs of regional theater market, activity stage, the budget of the skills acquired through work demonstrations and exhibitions of essays and job placement graduates of the actors in their productions more interesting.
